Abba- The Musicals

Although Abba themselves never created a full scale musical. They do have quite a history of involvement with musicals as follows:

1.Jesus Christ Superstar

Agnetha played the part of Mary Magdelene in the Swedish version of Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. She sung the very famous song ''I Dont Know How To Love Him'' with which she had a large hit in Sweden.

2.The Girl With Golden Hair

As part of their stage act they created a mini musical entitled ''The Girl With Golden Hair''. This consisted of the songs- Thank you for the Music, I Wonder (Departure), I'm A Marionette and first appeared on Abba-The Album

3.Chess

After the break up of Abba, Benny & Bjorn wrote the musical Chess with Tim Rice. The very familiar song '' I know Him So Well'' which was a Uk number one single performed by Barbara Dickson & Elaine Page comes from this musical.

The musical was based on an actual confrontation in Iceland between American and Russian grand masters of the board game.

4.Kristina Fran Duvemala

This musical written by Benny & Bjorn and was based on a Swedish Folk Story. The original 4 novels were written by Vilhelm Moberg and collectively called The Emigrants. The 4 books are currently available in paperback and comprise:

1. The Emigrants
2. Unto A Good Land
3. The Settlers
4. Last Letter Home

5.Mamma Mia
